CILIP Cataloguing & Indexing Group – Could you represent public libraries on our committee?

Are you a CILIP or CIG member who would like to join a dedicated team working on behalf of our 1000+ members in the UK and beyond?

We promote the essential skills of cataloguing, classification, metadata creation & indexing that define people’s search & discovery experiences.

CIG offers a wide range of resources including training events, a quarterly publication Catalogue and Index, a monthly eBulletin and a blog. We also have a twitter account @cilipcig

Our members work in a number of different sectors and we would like to see better representation of this on Committee.

We are particularly keen to welcome colleagues from Public Libraries.

We know that without you our local communities would be unable to find resources to entertain, inform and inspire.

So if you work in a public library – are new to cataloguing or with experience to share – then we would like to hear from you.

Committee meets four times a year to plan training, collaborative ventures, membership engagement & publishing activities.

We welcome prospective committee members as observers to our meetings (travel expenses paid.)

If you would be interested in joining us then please email us at Info.CIG@cilip.org.uk or for an informal discussion telephone Jane Daniels 02920 416247.
