Participants will be asked to consider how public library staff can demonstrate the impact of reading on health and well being and key partnership work.

NAG Servicing Guidelines – update session

Come armed with your issues, ideas and requirements so that we can use the session to continue to make the NAG Guidelines a current, worthwhile and usable resource

Getting Value from your Usage Data – ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer!’ – Dave Patten , University of Huddersfield

In this session, Dave will explore how library usage data – such as book circulation stats, e-journal hits, and OPAC keyword searches – can be used to gain a deeper insight into how our users interact with our services in both the physical and virtual library.  The session will also look at how usage data can be used to improve those services by providing personalised recommendations, guided searches and other features.  Finally, Dave will discuss the work of the JISC MOSAIC (Making Our Shared Activity Information Count) Project and the potential benefits the project may provide to staff responsible for stock selection.
