With service development, performance management, action planning and new technologies, the ability to see into our futures would be of huge benefit. We don’t have crystal balls, but it is still essential to be able to envisage and prepare for this future vision.
What strategies and initiatives can we adopt that would help libraries to embrace that vision now?
With a range of lectures and workshops, from key practitioners in their field addressing such issues, “Reading the future: turning goals into reality” offers you the chance to contribute to and consider your service in the context of tomorrow’s world.
Included within the programme are:
- PWC stock procurement process
- Weblogs and web development
- Supplier selection
- Resource-sharing between academic and public libraries
- The evaluation of electronic information sources

- Delegates will be provided with ensuite, single occupancy, study bedrooms on campus when booking accommodation.
- Start and finish times for the Conference are 10am on Wednesday 13th September and 4pm on Thursday 14th September. Accommodation with/without dinner will be available for the night of 12th September at an additional cost and should be booked on final registration.
